Oil changes, brakes, tires, batteries and everything that follows — done by GM-trained technicians who work on Chevrolets all day, in a department small enough to know your vehicle and your name.
Oil stops being oil long before it looks dirty. It thins out, picks up combustion by-products and loses the additive package that keeps deposits from forming — and once that happens it is doing a fraction of the job it was designed for.
Your Chevrolet works this out for you. The Oil Life Monitor tracks how the engine has actually been driven rather than counting miles, which is why a truck towing to Reedley in August and a commuter on Highway 180 arrive at the same percentage at very different odometer readings.

Most people find out from a noise, which is late. Pads wear gradually and the pedal compensates so smoothly that the change is invisible until something starts to squeal or the pedal goes long.
We measure instead of guess. Pads and rotors come back in millimetres, so you can see how much is left rather than being told you need brakes. If there is life in them we will tell you that too — and if you run Highway 180 up towards Kings Canyon regularly, that measurement is worth having early.

Tires do not wear evenly. Front tires carry the steering and most of the braking load, so on a vehicle left alone they will be finished while the rears still look new. Rotating moves that wear around and buys you the full set rather than half of it.
Valley driving is harder on rubber than the interval assumes. Heat, long stretches at speed and dust off the orchard roads all take a toll, and an alignment that has drifted will chew through a new set faster than you would believe.

Cold weather gets the blame because that is when a weak battery finally fails to turn the engine. The damage was done months earlier, in summer, when heat accelerated the chemical breakdown inside the case.
Sanger runs hot for a long stretch of the year, which is why batteries here rarely reach the life they manage in milder places. A test takes minutes and gives you a number — cranking amps measured against what the battery is rated for — so replacing it becomes a decision rather than a surprise in a car park.

The same GM Genuine and ACDelco parts our technicians fit are available over the counter and online. Thousands more than the items shown above — and we look them up by VIN so they fit the first time.
The four above cover most visits. These are the rest of what the department handles.
Transmission, coolant, brake and differential fluid, plus engine and cabin air filters — the items that quietly decide how long the expensive parts last.
In this valley an air conditioning fault is not a comfort problem, it is a reason to stop driving. We diagnose leaks rather than just topping it up.
Factory diagnostics that read live data rather than a stored code, so the fault gets found instead of parts getting replaced until the light goes out.
Module programming and calibration updates that only a dealer can perform. A modern Chevrolet is software as much as hardware.
Covered repairs and open recalls have to go through an authorised dealer. Recall work is always at no charge to you — call with your VIN and we will check.

Every shop says they look after your vehicle. Here is what that means when you hand us the keys.
Not every job needs you to give up a morning. Our mobile service brings routine maintenance to your driveway or your job site — same technicians, same parts, same record against your VIN.
Between store specials, manufacturer rebates and financing, most visits come in under the number on the estimate.
Current offers on the work most vehicles need — oil and rotation packages, brakes, batteries, filters and wipers.
See Current OffersBrake components, batteries, filters and wiper blades carry manufacturer rebates on top of our pricing. We handle the paperwork with you.
View RebatesA repair you cannot pay for today should not turn into a bigger one in six months. Ask before you decline the work.
Financing OptionsCertified Service visits and GM Genuine parts earn GM Rewards points, and points come straight off the bill. Most members have a balance sitting there unused — call and we will look yours up before we write the ticket.
Maintenance schedules are written for an average that does not exist here. A hundred-degree stretch that runs for months, dust off the orchard and field roads, short trips around town that never let the engine reach temperature, and for a good number of vehicles around Sanger, a trailer on the back or a load in the bed most days of the week.
All of that sits in the severe-service column of your owner’s manual, and it is the column most people never read. It is why batteries here give up early, why air conditioning gets used harder than the designers assumed, and why an air filter that should last a year can be finished in half of one.
None of that is an argument for over-servicing. It is an argument for having someone look at the vehicle who knows what this climate does to it, and who will tell you when something can wait.
Sanger Chevrolet is part of the Prieto Automotive Group, but the people in the service drive live here. Our advisors see customers at the grocery store and on Academy Avenue, which is a strong practical reason to be straight with you about what your vehicle needs.
Overselling does not work in a town this size. We would rather have the next twelve visits than one large invoice, so if something can wait we will say so, and if we recommend it, it is because we would do it to our own vehicle.
It gets you in and out faster, and you can book online at any hour. If something has gone wrong today, call the service line and we will tell you honestly whether we can look at it now or whether tomorrow morning is the realistic answer.
Follow the Oil Life Monitor rather than a fixed number. It accounts for how the vehicle has been driven, which matters more here than mileage does. If it has been sitting rather than driving, change it once a year regardless of what the percentage says.
Ask your advisor when you book and we will go through it. Tell us what you have noticed — a noise, a pull, something that feels different — because that is usually more useful than a general look.
Yes, including warranty, emissions and recall work. Where it was bought makes no difference to how it gets treated here.
No. You are entitled to have maintenance done wherever you like without voiding coverage — but keep the records, and for anything that is a warranty claim, emissions coverage or an open recall, it has to be an authorised dealer for it to cost you nothing.
No. We show you what we found, tell you the cost, and wait for your answer. If something is genuinely unsafe we will say so plainly, but the decision stays yours.
The hourly rate can be higher. The total often is not, once you count correct diagnosis, GM Genuine parts with a warranty behind them, current specials and manufacturer rebates — and for warranty or recall work, the dealer is the only place it costs you nothing at all.
For routine maintenance, often yes. Our mobile service performs the work at your home or job site, and it suits farm and work vehicles that are difficult to bring in. Availability depends on the job and where you are, so ask when you book.
